After being contacted by a constituent from the Middlebank Holdings area just outside Dunfermline, Liberal Democrat Councillor for Dunfermline South James Calder has got in touch with the Scottish Government to ask when the area will benefit from the R100 Superfast Broadband rollout. The reply from Kate Forbes MSP has said this is expected to be completed by the end of December 2022.

Councillor James Calder has said,

As we have seen from the increase in homeworking, the rollout of Superfast Broadband is more important than ever now for both our economy and providing this important service for residents.

I wrote to the Government after this was raised by a local resident in a rural area just outside of Dunfermline. While the rollout is expected to take place by the end of the year, I would urge the Government to make sure it is completed here on time.

Once completed it will really help residents and I believe they will receive one gigabit per second speeds – this will make a real difference.

I will continue to monitor this to push the Government to avoid any slippage.
