Lollipop staff losses to be investigated by Fife Council

by jamescalder on 23 September, 2023

Liberal Democrat Councillor James Calder seconded a motion put forward by Aude Boubaker-Calder to look into the significant losses in lollipop staff in Fife Council over the past few years. Around a quarter of the workforce has been lost since 2015.

The motion was backed unanimously by Councillors.

James Calder said,

We know how busy traffic can be at the school gates and lollipop people play an important role.

They help protect pupils walking to school and that also encourages more families to choose to walk rather than drive.

We need to investigate why we are seeing this reduction and I am pleased other councillors agreed.
