Speeding on Aberdour Road and Queensferry Road

by jamescalder on 30 November, 2021

Residents near Aberdour Road and Queensferry Road in Dunfermline have got in touch with Liberal Democrat councillor for Dunfermline Sourh James Calder to raise the issue of excessive speeding at night by some drivers.

Councillor Calder has said,

Speeding is dangerous, particularly along these roads that run past residential areas. It is also deeply unpleasant for residents at night when the cars create excessive noise.

I would urge all drivers to be more considerate to residents and put themselves in their shoes.

I have raised these issues with the police locally and hopefully they can also take some action to deal with this antisocial behaviour late at night.

Local resident Donald Adrian, who contacted Councillor Calder, added,

With Queensferry Road being the main route from the town , Southwards, it’s an increasingly popular route. With traffic lights operating at Aberdour Road it’s turned into something of a racetrack, to beat these lights, and consequently the noise and speed of some of the vehicles is something to behold. Hopefully our Councillor can coordinate the Police , and our local council , to address this increasingly dangerous and anti social issue.”
