At the Fife Council Education and Children’s Services Subcommittee it was decided to take more time to make decisions on changes to Childcare Serviced and Play Practice Development, which has been welcomed by Liberal Democrat Education Spokesperson Councillor James Calder.

Councillor Calder has said,

It is positive that all Councillors agreed that we needed more detail and information to make these significant changes to childcare services in Fife.

I have had concerns about the proposals to reduce out of school care services. With a lack of information about the number of families affected and with the danger of this having a significant financial impact for many, including low income families, we need to take more time before making a final decision.

Hopefully we can ensure an outcome which will ensure the impact on individual families is reduced.
