Dunfermline South Councillor James Calder joined residents and Council Officers on Thursday 16th November to discuss various local issues that have been raised as a concern. This came after a local resident and started a petition with signatures of many of the local residents.

Councillor Calder has said,

Thanks to the efforts of determined local residents, including one gentleman in particular who organised the petition, the estate just off Aberdour Road at the East of Abbeyview is now in the spotlight. Earlier in the year he took myself and the other Councillors around to highlight many issues, such as decaying roads, pavements, overgrown shrubs and trees that are blocking light and hitting telephone lines.

As a result of this I organised a walkabout the some of the Council Officers last week so that residents could discuss directly the issues. We saw teams from Parks, Streets and Open Spaces, Transportation and Fife Housing Group come along. On the positive side a number of issues have now been picked up by those teams who will be starting to take them on, but resolving everything will be long term. I will continue to work with Council Officers and the local community to make further progress.
