At the Dunfermline Area Committee, it was agreed to put forward parking restrictions on Lapwing Drive. Liberal Democrat Councillor James Calder had raised this with Transportation after many residents got in touch due to cars obstructing the road and has welcomed this.

Councillor Calder has said,

I am delighted that Transportation have taken such quick action on this instance. Due to new developments, many vehicles were obstructing the road and it has been a danger.

I did raise at the meeting issues near the Amazon site where both Amazon staff and lorry drivers are also causing obstructions and I would be keen to work with Transportation to take similar action in other areas.

There are also issues with crossing the road on Lapwing Drive. While hopefully the parking restrictions will make it safer, I am keen for a crossing to be out at the bottom near Merlin Drive and Fergusson Road which school pupils have to cross each day.
