After a number of concerns raised by residents living near the burn flowing through Pitcorthie, Councillor James Calder has taken action to help deal with a rat problem.

James Calder has said:

A number of residents have spoken to me in recent months about the issues with rats around the burn in Pitcorthie. Obviously this is a major health and safety issue and I contacted Pest Control Services at Fife Council.

Over the past few weeks they have taken action to help deal with the problem. However we also need to see action in cleaning the burn up, and I have been liaising with Parks, Streets and Open Spaces to get this resolved.

In the meantime if anyone else has problems with rats where they live please let me know.
