After recent night closures of the M90 led to significant numbers of loud vehicles being diverted through Sandpiper Drive, Lapwing Drive and Carnegie Avenue, Liberal Democrat Councillor James Calder has called for Bear Scotland and Fife Council to put in place an alternative diversionary route. James Calder has received a number of complaints of loud vehicles passing through these residential areas during the night including lorries.
James Calder said,
“Residents are rightly angry that they are being kept up at night due to loud vehicles using this diversionary route.
“There are alternative routes available locally that do not pass by as many residential properties in close proximity.
“I have written to Fife Council Transportation Department to ask them to consider looking at alternatives.
“It is important that we keep disruption at a minimum to local residents so they can enjoy some peace and quiet in their homes.”
