Calder raises bus travel to Woodmill and St Columba’s High Schools at Council

by jamescalder on 19 September, 2024

After families in Pitcorthie got in touch with concerns about the length of walk for pupils in the area who need to walk to the new school campus, and lack of guaranteed bus transport, Liberal Democrat Councillor for Dunfermline South James Calder raised the issue at Council.

The Administration replied that they are looking at working with Stagecoach to ensure bus timetables that would serve pupils in the area.

James Calder said,

Families in Pitcorthie are concerned that pupils have around an hour walk back to the area as they are not given automatic entitlement to bus travel to the new school campus.

I pressed the point for more engagement to help find solutions to the issue and I am pleased that the Administration are looking into solutions with Stagecoach.

I will keep pressing for support as during winter months when it is darker and worse weather these concerns will only increase.
