Dunfermline Children’s Gala Report

by jamescalder on 25 June, 2017

The Huge Hungry Caterpillar

Yesterday the Dunfermline Children’s Gala took place and once again provided a wonderful day out for the children of Dunfermline. As a Councillor I had the privilege of attending the Gala reception at the City Chambers along with some of my fellow Councillors, the Provost, Lady Elgin and our local MSP.

The start of the Gala included the wonderful parade. All of the costumes of characters from children’s books were fantastic, there were some great marching and Pipe bands and of course the giant Hungry Caterpillar (he must have eaten a lot!) was amazing. As usual it provided a superb spectacle.

Outside the Reception

Afterwards I made my way down to Pittencrieff Park and took in the fun atmosphere. It was clear that everyone was having great fun, despite the occasional shower!

This was definitely a brilliant day and I would like to thank the organisers for putting on a great job as well as all those who took part in the day’s festivities!
