Earlier this week I met with members of the South Dunfermline Community Council and the Council’s Transportation Department to look at the parking issues at Pitreavie Primary School. This allowed us to review the problems caused by inconsiderate parking by a minority of parents.

Issues included some parking on the roundabout, by junctions and over the yellow zig zag lines that it is illegal to stop at. These issues are reflected across schools all over the country, and I believe this was a useful exercice to identify the particular problems at this one school.

Hopefully Transportation may be able to look into solutions, and the police do make patrols. In the meantime I would ask any parents to park considerately, ensuring they think about local residents, and also legally.
