Over the last few years residents in the estate on the Abbeyview side of Aberdour Road have been left in limbo over the proper maintenace of trees. After a recent motion that I put forward progress appears to have been made.
I have made the following statement:
Leave a commentFor too long the residents of the estate near Aberdour Road have had to deal with the trees over growing and potentially damaging their properties due to the disagreement between Fife Council and Fife Housing Group. There has apparently been some movement as after a recent meeting it was decided the Council was legally responsible for dealing with these issues and I believe Fife Housing Group are currently compiling a list of trees needing dealt with. After the motion I raised at Council recently I am pleased this has happened but it should never have taken so long. However we still have the issue that I believe Dunfermline’s Parks, Streets and Open Spaces are underfunded by Fife Council and we need to see more spending as I know people in areas such as Abbeyview and Pitcorthie in the ward I represent are very unhappy.
