Working hard for Dunfermline South all year round Learn more

Over the past few weeks a number of residents have raised to me their concerns about some of the parking taking place by some parents outside of Woodmill High School. These are issues which seem to be causing a lot of distress for those living nearby, especially around the Shields Road area.
Common complaints include parking across driveways and some abuse being directed towards residents who have objected to this. Some residents who for example use a van for their work have been prevented from getting to jobs which obviously is having a hugely detrimental impact on them.
I have been in touch with both the Council’s Transportation Services and the Police regarding this. The Police will patrol the area. However I would really like to urge parents who need to drop off their children to the school to take care to be considerate towards local residents and to not park in front of driveways. I would add the same for the Primary Schools in the area, as I have had similar concerns raised about them too.
