Lights Out in Parts of Pitcorthie

by jamescalder on 14 March, 2018

Over the past few months there have been problems with street lighting in streets across Pitcorthie in Dunfermline. Issues include entire streets not having lighting during the long-winter nights, and Liberal Democrat Councillor for Dunfermline South has called for action to be taken by Fife Council and Scottish Power.

Councillor Calder has said,

Residents in some parts of Pitcorthie, such as Elm Grove, have had to deal with months of problems with their street lighting and this is taking far too long to be resolved. In the area Fife Council had arranged for a Scottish Power fuse to be replaced, but there seems to be continuing problems. Residents have expressed their concerns to me about the safety issues raised, and I am fully supportive of their position.

I have written both to Fife Council Officers and Scottish Power to ask that a proper investigation and resolution of this problem be escalated. This is essential to ensure the safety of local residents who should not need to live in darkness.
