At last week’s Full Council meeting the co-leaders report mentioned their recent meeting with Visit Scotland. After being questioned by James Calder, it has turned out that they did not raise the closure of the Visit Scotland office in Dunfermline.
Councillor Calder has said,
Leave a commentIt is obviously positive that the Council co-leaders have discussed with Visit Scotland on how to improve tourist numbers in Fife. However I was very disapointed to hear that the closure of the Visit Scotland office in Dunfermline has not been raised.
At the point when we have been doing so much locally to improve tourism locally, such as the new Museum, this was a body-blow to the tourist industry of Scotland’s ancient capital. I cannot believe our Council leaders either forgot or ignored this and did not bring it up. Dunfermline needs to have the support of our Administration on issues like this.
