Antisocial Behaviour Update

by jamescalder on 27 November, 2017

Councillor James Calder has been concerned with reports of antisocial behaviour and has been working with police and the Council to look for innovative solutions.

James Calder has said,

Over the past few months there have been reports of disgraceful behaviour, including eggings and bin-burnings by the woods. Local residents should not have to put up with this, and I have been liaising with the Police and Council to look into solutions. We also have had people flytipping at recycling centres such as at Tesco, and I have asked the Council to look at this.

In some senses we need a carrot and stick approach. As well as taking a robust approach to offenders, we need to ensure there is activities for young people to do, and I know the police have promoted some such as sports. If anyone does see any kind of anti-social behaviour, I urge them to report this to the Police and to the Council.
