Working hard for Dunfermline South all year round Learn more

This weekend a couple of the highlights of the year for Dunfermline South took place- the South Dunfermline Gala and Abbeyview Festival. Both days were great fun for both young and old, and I was delighted to attend both.
On Saturday we had the Dunfermline South Gala. This took place on the grounds of Pitreavie Primary School. The highlight of the day for myself was definitely the very entertaining sheepdogs herding ducks which was great fun. On the other hand, for former Councillor Tony Martin, I think the highlight was ‘Splat the Councillor’. He got to throw sponges, along with other attendees of the gala, at myself and Cllr. Fay Sinclair. Suffisive to say I got quite wet! There was plenty for everyone to enjoy and it was a fun day for all.
On Sunday it was across to Abbeyview Park for the Abbeyview Festival. The Councillors managed to get away without being splattered! However there was lots more fun to see and do, including Football training with the Pars, bowling tasters and even getting to watch wrestling!
It was great to see everyone have such a great time and I need to give a big shout out to the organisers, the South Dunfermline Community Council for Saturday’s event and the Abbeyview Community Council for Sunday’s- they did a great job!
