Today I attended the launch of the new access point of the Fife Law Centre in Dunfermline. This new facility will be an important development in legal provision for much of the community in Dunfermline.

The Fife Law Centre provides urgent legal needs that are generally not fulfilled by solicitors on the high street. This includes housing problems, children’s rights, welfare rights and some employment matters. This will provide an important service, particularly taking up matters that many cannot afford to take up themselves and that will not be taken up by high street law firms.

The Fife Law Centre is partly funded by Fife Council as well as by Scottish Legal Aid. If you wish to contact them they are located just behind 82 High Street and are open 9-1pm Monday and Wednesday or you can go onto their website.
