Working hard for Dunfermline South all year round Learn more

Today I visited for the first time the brand new Dunfermline Carnegie Library and Galleries. Alongside the candidates from the other Parties for the General Election we visited this fantastic new facility together as a tribute for Jo Cox, the Labour MP who was tragically murdered last year.
The Library and Galleries will be wonderful for both residents and tourists alike. Dunfermline has long-needed a museum and it certainly did not disappoint in showing the history of our wonderful home. Both people locally and tourists will learn so much about the local area, and I am sure this will bring more people in to visit Dunfermline and play an important part in the local economy. Already local shop owners have told me since it has opened it has increased footfall.
The Library, which I have fond childhood memories of, has been brought into the 21st century and will be great for adults and children alike. It has been a long wait but it was certainly worth it. The building is also a very well-done combination of older architecture and it uses a lot of natural light to make it a bright atmosphere.
I would recommend everyone locally to visit the Library and Galleries and also to invite any friends and family both near and from further away to come visit. We have a wonderful facility here in Dunfermline which I think everyone can be proud of.
