At a meeting of the Full Council the Liberal Democrats put forward a motion which led to the Council agreeing to consider funding for healthcare facilities such as GP surgeries as part of the conditions for future housing developments.
Councillor James Calder welcomed this and said,
Leave a commentAs we have seen in the recent developments in Dunfermline, infrastructure is struggling to cope with the influx of new residents and we have a GP shortage.
This motion is positive and hopefully it will set us on the course for taking funding to pay for facilities. While I am glad the other parties agreed to consider this, it was disapointing that our original motion was made less strong by Labour and the SNP. However I know that many residents in Dunfermline who struggle to get healthcare appointments will be pleased this is being considered.
