At today’s City of Dunfermline Area Committee I was delighted that all Councillors agreed to proceed forward with my motion on Sunday Parking charges with one amendment to ensure parking charges are devolved to local areas.

My motion called for a report on the effects of Sunday parking with the possibility to remove the charges. Many local businesses have called for the charges to be removed and I have felt it was important as a Councillor to listen.

My hope with this motion was to allow Councillors to analyse the evidence on Sunday parking and also allow Councillors in Dunfermline to make the decision on whether or not to proceed.

In addition to my motion we also discussed the area roads programme for the coming financial year. I am pleased to see Masterton Road being resurfaced as well as pavement repairs on Standing Stone Walk. I did however express disappointment at the lack of repairs done to the pavements in Pitcorthie.
