In a number of areas in the ward there are significant problems with roads and pavements. Councillor James Calder has been working to improve this situation that many residents are worried about, including:

• Supporting a proposal by Fife Council’s Transportation Department to resurface roads such as Morrison Drive.
• Arranging a meeting between local residents and Transportation which helped lead to serious potholes in Fir Grove to be repaired
• James brought Transportation to other streets with pothole problems such as Willow Grove which were subsequently repaired.
• Asking Transportation to consider resurfacing crumbling pavements in the area Pushing Council to resolve sightline and speed problems on the Masterton Road Roundabouts by Morrison Drive and Dover Drive. After work was recently completed on this he asked Transportationo to measure the impacts which showed a significant reduction in speeds.
• Backing road safety improvements throughout the ward, including new traffic crossings and reducing speed limits in problem residential areas.
• James arranged for a Walkabout on the Aberdour Road Estate to the South of Abbeyview which has led to Transportation identifying problem areas which they will look to fix.
