Just over a week before Christmas, Dunfermline has had major problems with icy pavements. Dunfermline South Liberal Democrat Councillor James Calder has been concerned about this.

Cllr. Calder has said,

Obviously it is unavoidable at winter to have icy conditions, but it feels as though Fife Council has been caught offguard. Pavements are completely covered in ice and I have heard of a number of incidents involving people being injured as a result.

I have asked Transportation to urgently look at this and also let me know their preventative measures. We must ensure public safety when it comes to ice is a top priority in winter.
